What is CCMR?

College Career and Military Readiness (CCMR) is about preparing students for life after graduation. It is made up of curriculum, resources, programs and activities that help students have the tools they need to enter college or the workforce and begin a career. CCMR is integrated into the everyday culture of our district and is supported by state guidelines, partnerships with higher education organizations and businesses.

In Texas, CCMR points are awarded to school districts based on the percentage of graduates who meet certain criteria related to college, career, and military readiness.

CCMR Indicators

  • College readiness refers to the knowledge, skills and behaviors a student should have after graduating from high school as they prepare to enter their freshmen year of college. We believe college is within reach of all interested students and we provide resources and support to help make those college dreams a reality.

      • > 3 hours of credit in ELA or Math OR > 9 hours of credits cumulated across all subjects
    • College Prep English and Math
      • Course Credit in BOTH College Prep English and College Prep Math

  • Career readiness means that a student has the skills they need to find, acquire, maintain, and grow within a job.

    To support career readiness, we offer a variety of opportunities to help students explore career options. We also offer options for students to gain real work experience and earn credentials to help them go straight into the workforce after high school graduation.

    • Industry Based Certification (IBC)
      • Earn an approved IBC while in high school PLUS > 1 Level 2 or higher course in an aligned Program of Study
    • Level I or II Certification (College Reported)
      • Earn a Level I or Level II Certificate

  • There are many reasons why a student may consider a career in the military such as serving their country, learning a new skill or trade, travel or saving money and paying for college.

    • Armed Forces
      • Enlist in the U. S. Armed Forces or the Texas National Guard with a completed D4 Form
